Role Summary

As a Software Engineer (Frontend) at Ontic, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the user interfaces that drive our SaaS platform. You will contribute to end-to-end feature development, focus on improving user experience, and help maintain scalable and robust frontend systems. Success in this role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality code, adhering to best practices, and collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

• Build and deliver frontend features utilizing JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate product and design specifications into functional, high-quality UI components.
• Integrate frontend applications seamlessly with backend services and APIs.
• Contribute to the enhancement of existing UI components and application workflows.

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in accordance with engineering standards.
• Actively participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to colleagues.
• Apply best practices in component design, state management, performance optimization, and accessibility.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of frontend architecture and development patterns.

Learning & Technical Growth

• Deepen your expertise in frontend architecture, performance optimization, and scalability.
• Apply advanced debugging and troubleshooting techniques across various environments.
• Stay current with modern frontend technologies and industry best practices.

Collaboration

• Work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure successful feature delivery.
• Break down complex tasks and provide accurate work estimates.
• Clearly communicate progress, potential risks, and interdependencies.

Production Awareness

• Debug and resolve issues effectively in both development and production environments.
• Monitor application performance and contribute to improving overall system reliability.
• Utilize logging and monitoring tools to identify and rectify issues.

Qualifications and Experiences

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience in frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Hands-on experience with React (or similar modern frontend frameworks) and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of fundamental programming concepts, data structures, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience working with REST APIs and asynchronous programming patterns.
• Familiarity with frontend architecture principles, state management solutions, and component-driven development.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of modern frontend tooling, including build systems, bundlers, and package managers.
• Experience using browser developer tools for debugging.
• Good understanding of performance optimization techniques and responsive design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for seamless collaboration.

Good to Have

• Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Familiarity with design systems or established component libraries.
• Exposure to frontend performance monitoring tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment environments.
• Awareness of accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG).
