The Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer (5–10 years of experience) to help build Yieldmo's AI-powered search engine, which will change how users discover and engage with content across major publishers. This is a full-stack role with a strong ML component. You'll build backend services and ML-powered features, and ship the user-facing interfaces that bring them to life.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs that power AI-driven search, including retrieval, ranking, and indexing components.
Build and deploy ML features into production: embeddings, vector search, RAG pipelines, LLM integrations, and model evaluation.
Develop responsive, performant front-end experiences that surface search results and AI features to users and internal teams.
Build and maintain data and content ingestion pipelines that feed the search system.
Own features end to end, from prototype through production, monitoring, and iteration.
Partner with Product, ML, and Engineering teams to turn requirements into shipped features.
Drive quality, performance, and reliability for the services you own, including testing, code reviews, and observability.
Share knowledge and support teammates; senior engineers will mentor others and contribute to technical design decisions.
Requirements
Must be based in India.
5–10 years of professional software engineering experience, building and operating production systems.
Strong backend skills in Python, with solid SQL and experience designing APIs and microservices.
Hands-on front-end experience with a modern framework (React preferred) plus JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Practical ML experience in production: working with embeddings, vector databases, LLMs, RAG, or ranking/recommendation models.
Experience with Docker, cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), and CI/CD.
Strong fundamentals in data structures, system design, and testing.
Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-moving, remote team.
An ownership mindset: you ship, measure, and improve.
Nice to Haves
Deeper ML/AI backend experience: model serving, fine-tuning, training pipelines, or online/offline evaluation.
Experience building search or retrieval systems (inverted indexes, BM25, hybrid search, rerankers).
Familiarity with data tools such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or a modern data warehouse.
Experience with publisher-scale content, recommendation systems, or adtech.
