Software Engineer

Synthires is seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our remote team for a contract position. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with expertise in software development, debugging, code optimization, GitHub collaboration, and distributed systems to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects.

You will design and develop reinforcement learning environments to evaluate AI models on complex software engineering tasks. Your responsibilities include reviewing and assessing AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, efficiency, and adherence to software engineering best practices. You will apply expertise in debugging, feature development, code refactoring, performance optimization, and software architecture.

Key tasks include building reproducible coding environments using Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools, developing deterministic test cases, and contributing to GitHub-based projects. Strong communication skills are essential to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation for AI training and evaluation.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust. Experience with Git, GitHub, debugging, and large-scale distributed systems is a plus. Competitive compensation ranges from $50–$150/hour, with weekly payments.
