Software Engineer

About The Job

We are seeking a QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our Tank IoT platform. In this role, you will execute testing efforts across cloud and mobile solutions, validating functionality from device connectivity through telemetry processing, data accuracy, APIs, reports, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute automated and manual testing for the Tank SaaS platform, including mobile applications, IoT data ingestion pipelines, and firmware.
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, define test scenarios, and identify defects early.
• Develop automation using tools such as Playwright, Karate, and Appium. Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Perform functionality, regression, integration, E2E, smoke/sanity, negative, and exploratory testing.
• Design and maintain scalable UI, API, and integration automation frameworks.
• Validate backend services, REST APIs, databases (SQL Server, Cosmos DB), event/message flows, and third-party integrations.
• Identify opportunities to improve regression coverage and execution time.
• Drive Quality Engineering and promote Shift-Left practices across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications & Education

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Software Engineering, or related field preferred. 3+ years of professional software testing experience for SaaS and mobile platforms required.
• Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and ownership mindset.

Required Technical Skills

• Test Automation: Playwright/Selenium/Cypress using BDD or equivalent frameworks.
• Programming Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript; Python optional.
• API Testing: REST/SOAP APIs.
• Databases: SQL, NoSQL (Cosmos DB).
• Manual Testing Fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle knowledge.
• Version Control: Git.
• CI/CD Tools: Azure DevOps/Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
• Cloud Platforms: Azure/AWS experience preferred.
• Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, Microservices architecture knowledge, OAuth/JWT authentication, observability, log monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• Performance Testing: JMeter, k6 or similar load testing tools.
• Mobile Test Automation: Appium experience.
• Firmware & Device Testing: Experience with embedded systems and hardware-integrated applications.
• Security Testing: Knowledge of security principles and tools.
• AI-Assisted Testing: Experience with AI-powered test automation or quality engineering tools.
