About The Role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer - Development to join our dynamic software engineering team in San Diego, California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions for critical aerospace and defense systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5 years of experience (or Master's/PhD equivalents).
• Proven experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Hands-on experience developing software for Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, GitLab, Fortify, or Coverity.
• Active US Secret Clearance required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory for positions requiring government security clearance.

Responsibilities

You will collaborate within a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality software solutions across diverse assignments and teams. Responsibilities include participating in all phases of the SDLC, developing embedded software for real-time systems used in flight-critical applications, working within Agile Scrum teams, analyzing system capabilities, contributing to architecture design, and engaging in debugging and verification activities.
