About the Role
Join us as a Software Engineer at Barclays where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build, manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of digital solutions.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Maintaining and creating Java Spring Boot microservices with performance-oriented efficient code.
- Writing and maintaining GitLab pipelines acting as a DevOps engineer.
- Handling Docker images creation and publishing for each microservice, requiring solid Kubernetes knowledge (including RedHat OpenShift private cloud experience).
- Producing and consuming messages to/from Apache Kafka.
- Writing JUnit tests and Cucumber feature files along with the team.
- Managing Gradle scripts to build and publish artifacts.
Skill Requirements
We value candidates who can read/write onto MongoDB from Microservices, understand OpenAPI specifications for exchanging API specs, and have experience leveraging AI tools like Claude or Copilot within the GitLab ecosystem. Leadership in areas such as risk controls, change management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital technology will also be highly valued.
