Software Engineer

About the Role

The Compliance Program Engineering team at Block builds and operates platforms that support our compliance program and product teams. You will design transaction and entity-labeling systems, enhance data quality, and build tools for compliance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team to develop features across transaction and labeling platforms from design through operation.
• Write high-quality code and participate actively in technical reviews.
• Design systems within microservice architectures handling sensitive customer data correctly.
• Improve coverage and usability of transaction data for investigators and automated systems.
• Build self-serve tools and ingestion pipelines to onboard new products efficiently.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, and product teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Take operational ownership including on-call support and incident response.
• Demonstrate AI fluency by leveraging AI-powered tools throughout development while applying sound judgment.
