Software Engineer

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer for its Platform team in Ahmedabad, India. This role is crucial for building and maintaining core backend services, including payments, analytics, subscriptions, new product development, text-to-speech capabilities, and external APIs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker passionate about product development, fast-paced environments, and creating exceptional user experiences. The interview process is designed to be swift, typically completed within one week, involving several technical interviews.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs, including public TTS, and internal APIs for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking, ensuring scalability and business alignment.
• Manage and optimize the entire backend API landscape for performance and maintainability.
• Contribute to B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure backend architecture supports overall product strategy and user experience.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in backend development, specifically with TypeScript/Node.js (required).
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers is also valued.
• Demonstrated efficiency in ideation and task prioritization based on urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.
