Software Engineer

The D. E. Shaw group, a global investment and technology development firm managing over $90 billion in capital as of March 1, 2026, seeks a Systems Engineer for its Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram. This hands-on technical role involves software development to support infrastructure projects and enhance the firm's technology platforms. Key responsibilities include R&D for technology evaluation, resolving production issues, and managing project lifecycles. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing network automation infrastructure in collaboration with IT Infrastructure teams. Engineers will contribute to enhancing enterprise technology environments through tier 2/3 operational support, developing automations for network engineers, and upgrading/redesigning infrastructure for improved performance and stability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience, with a preference for networking domain focus.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Golang.
• Familiarity with enterprise software development stacks and frameworks.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing performant, reliable, and secure network automation systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with Linux diagnostic tools.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in networking fundamentals, including the TCP/IP stack.
