Software Engineer at Spotlytt, Mumbai

This is an opportunity for one of the earliest engineers to significantly influence the company's direction. You will play a key role in architectural decisions, take full ownership of features from conception to deployment, and have direct interaction with the founding team, operating in a fast-paced environment free from bureaucratic hurdles.
What You'll Do
- Develop and scale core product functionalities across the entire technology stack.
- Build and manage infrastructure for video and audio upload, processing, and playback.
- Create and refine feed algorithms, discovery logic, and tools for recruiters.
- Focus on enhancing performance, reliability, and delivering a mobile-first user experience.
- Contribute to technical strategy and decision-making as the product and team expand.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in building and shipping real-world products; personal projects are valued.
- Proficiency in both frontend and backend development, with a proven track record of owning features from UI to database.
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and access control.
- Experience with designing and implementing REST APIs and server-side logic.
- Hands-on experience with deployment and production environments, ensuring system stability and uptime.
- Comfortable navigating and contributing to a rapidly evolving codebase where initiative and decision-making are paramount.
Bonus Points
- Prior experience with video or media-focused platforms.
- Knowledge or experience in developing technology for the HR and recruitment industry.
- Familiarity with Server-Side Rendering (SSR), SEO optimization techniques, or performance tuning for web applications.
- Experience taking a product from its initial stages to a live user base.
