Software Engineer

Speechify is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our macOS Core Product team in Pune, India. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the development and scalability of Speechify's core desktop experience, serving millions of users worldwide. You will take ownership of significant aspects of our macOS application architecture, deliver high-quality, production-ready code, and collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams across the organization. Responsibilities:

• Drive key engineering and product decisions for the macOS application.
• Write, test, and deploy production-quality code designed for large-scale user bases.
• Maintain and enhance complex application architecture with a strong emphasis on performance and stability.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional team, working alongside designers and product managers to shepherd features from initial concept through to launch.
• Contribute to product planning and roadmap strategy.
• Champion continuous improvements in code quality, CI/CD processes, and development workflows.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in shipping macOS (or similar desktop) applications with significant customer adoption.
• Exceptional engineering acumen with a profound focus on user experience.
• A strategic approach to product development, prioritizing building great products over simply writing code.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, make timely decisions on development priorities, and iterate rapidly.
• Experience working effectively within remote, distributed teams.

Technical Requirements:

• Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI for macOS development.
• A thorough understanding of AppKit, core macOS frameworks, and desktop UI paradigms.
• Strong grasp of concurrency and asynchronous execution patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows such as Bitrise, Xcode Cloud, or GitHub Actions.
