Responsibilities:
- Define, design, develop, test, document, and operate backend systems and services, ensuring solution elegance, ease of evolution, system quality, performance, scalability, and availability.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering peers to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Act as a technical engineer passionate about distributed systems, cloud service development, deployment, and delivery.
- Work with all stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirements for software development.
- Develop high-level product specifications, considering system integration and feasibility.
- Write clean, maintainable code while iterating rapidly and shipping features.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proven expertise in abstraction, coding, and system design with excellent programming skills.
- A strong technical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success in designing, architecting, and delivering backend technologies within a consumer internet ecosystem.
- Experience as a technical leader in agile software engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of the design and development of distributed systems.
- Experience building platforms and products from inception.
- Excellent knowledge of microservice design and development.
