Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer - JAVA for our Technology team at Barclays Payments Merchant Services based in Chennai or Pune. This role involves supporting a multiyear initiative called SOLD Simplification to modernize the platform, ensuring compliance with valuable environments and hardware refreshes while removing redundant functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement coding best practices, including clean code, modular design, and unit testing.
• Integrate with relational and NoSQL databases.

To be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in Java (8+), Spring Boot, REST API design.
• Experience with relational databases and ORM tools like JPA/Hibernate.

Skill Requirements:

• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
