Software Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts within the technology domain.
• Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements across our environment.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document projects associated with the technology domain, focusing on upgrades and deployments.
• Analyze technical assignments related to low to medium risk deliverables requiring research and selection of alternative technologies.
• Present recommendations for resolving issues or escalate as needed to meet service level agreements.
• Exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of security and compliance requirements within the technology domain.
• Provide information to colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent through work, training, military service, or education.

Desired Qualifications:

• 2+ years with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• 1+ year with multithreading and distributed caching technologies.
• Experience building scalable event-driven solutions using Kafka and Flink.
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms like EPLX or Harness.
• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift container platforms.
• Skill in designing microservices-based applications and applying software design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of relational (Oracle, SQL Server) and document (MongoDB) databases.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to work across engineering and business teams.
• Advantageous experience with low-latency systems development or multicast messaging frameworks.
• Familiarity in the banking domain is a plus.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot.
• Proficiency in test automation (e.g., Karate).
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
• Background with big data technologies like Apache Spark or Hadoop.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments including Sprint Planning and Retrospectives.
