Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at H&M Group, you will own the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing design, development, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance. Your role will involve translating complex business needs into robust, scalable, maintainable, and adaptable software solutions. By prioritizing technical excellence, automation, and well-structured design, you will be instrumental in achieving continuous delivery and upholding high standards of software quality.

You will operate within a collaborative, transparent, and trust-based non-hierarchical environment. With full ownership and accountability, your focus will be on creating value, driving growth, and delivering outstanding customer and business outcomes.

This position is within the Product Information and Enrichment team, part of the Backend Center of Excellence (CoE) at H&M Group. Our team is dedicated to enhancing product information to ensure a seamless shopping experience for our customers, from initial browsing through to final checkout. Your contributions will be key in developing customer-centric solutions that enrich product data and elevate the overall e-commerce experience.

You will work closely with a variety of cross-functional teams, including fellow developers, product managers, UX designers, and business stakeholders, to conceive and build innovative and scalable solutions.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

• Education: A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (B.Tech/B.E/MS/MTech) from a premier engineering college.
• Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in Java backend development and associated technologies.
• Backend Development: Proficient coding skills in Java and Spring Boot.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Demonstrated experience in writing high-quality, testable code utilizing JUnit and Mockito.
• API Design: Strong understanding and practical experience with RESTful API design principles and best practices.
• Microservices & Architecture: Expertise in Microservices and Event-Driven Architecture, complemented by a solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines.
• Retail & E-commerce Domain: Prior experience with customer-facing websites, ideally within the retail and e-commerce sectors.
• Enterprise-Level Solutions: Proven background in working with large enterprises and developing high-volume solutions.
