Key Responsibilities:
• Own the core domain of AbsenceSoft's leave management platform (eligibility, entitlement, usage, pay).
• Transform legacy services into high-performing code on a modern tech stack while maintaining system health.
• Build agentic workflows for analysis and production wellness.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and partner with Product/Engineering leadership.
Required Skills:
• Experience leading backend systems; strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js and C#/.NET.
• Domain-driven design principles for complex business domains.
• Ownership of high-stakes calculations (payroll, benefits) with strict correctness requirements.
• Daily use of AI-assisted development tools with rigorous verification habits.
• Strong automated-testing discipline (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest).
• MongoDB or other document database modeling at production scale.
Preferred Skills:
• 7+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Domain expertise in leave/benefits/disability/payroll/HR tech.
• AWS security work (KMS, SSM) and observability tools like DataDog.
