Software Engineer

Speechify is seeking a talented Software Engineer for its iOS Core Product team in Chennai, India. As our iOS app continues its rapid growth, evidenced by its strong performance in the App Store and recent recognition for inclusivity, we require a skilled engineer to support our expanding user base and contribute to innovative new projects that advance our mission.

What You’ll Do

• Lead key engineering and product decisions that shape the future of Speechify's iOS app.
• Actively contribute to shipping production-ready code for the Speechify iOS application.
• Collaborate within a dedicated product team, working closely with designers and product managers.
• Participate in product discussions, influencing the product roadmap and strategic direction.
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex architecture of the Speechify iOS app, ensuring scalability and performance.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• Proven experience building and scaling products to a large user base.
• A track record of contributing to various products from conception through to significant traction, demonstrating end-to-end engineering responsibility.
• Customer obsession: a relentless focus on providing the best possible user experience.
• Strong product thinking skills, making thoughtful decisions about product evolution and guiding internal teams.
• The ability to work with speed, generating ideas and effectively prioritizing what can be shipped immediately versus what requires more development time.
• Focus: the capacity to engage effectively and work heads-down in a high-growth, remote startup environment.
• Technical proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Swift programming language.
• Experience with SwiftUI for building user interfaces.
• Solid understanding and practical experience in Multithreading Programming.
• Experience working with CI/CD infrastructure for automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity and experience with Fastlane for automating iOS development and release processes.
• Adherence to SOLID principles, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
• Experience with Git version control and a strong understanding of various Git branching and merging strategies.
