Software Engineer

Role Summary

As an iOS Software Engineer, you will build and maintain the PayPal POS app used by small businesses daily for payments, checkout, and shop management. You'll collaborate with teams across global regions to enhance features like sign-in, receipts, invoices, and card reader connectivity.

Essential Responsibilities

• Implement tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) under guidance from experienced staff.
• Understand and apply internal standards & processes for technical decisions.
• Collaborate with peers, managers, and project leads to review solutions and contribute to code/design reviews.

Your Impact

• Make checkout and receipts fast and reliable for merchants at the counter.
• Deliver features across product library, inventory, purchase history, refunds, and invoices.
• Improve app stability, release quality, and crash-free sessions.

Daily Activities

• Build and ship features in Swift using modern concurrency; UIKit and SwiftUI as the product requires.
• Integrate with backend services over REST and GraphQL; handle auth and session flows.
• Work with Bluetooth reader connectivity (Core Bluetooth) and Apple payment frameworks under guidance.
• Write unit and UI tests, participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and staged releases.
• Investigate crashes using analytics to fix root causes.
