About The Role

The Hyderabad Infra team is responsible for the development and upkeep of Notion's internal asynchronous task runner and configuration management platform. These systems are vital for ensuring a fast, reliable, and secure experience for millions of users. Our configuration management platform facilitates secure and explicit management of configurations for Notion's product and infrastructure engineers.

As a member of the Hyderabad Infra Team, you will play a key role in shaping how Notion manages and scales its asynchronous task runner and configuration management platform, thereby fostering innovation across the company.

What You'll Achieve

• Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our asynchronous task runner, ensuring it meets the demands of over 100 million global users and supports our product's and business's rapid expansion.
• With support from senior team members, help maintain the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our systems. Evaluate and integrate new technologies to address emerging challenges.
• Develop your skills in distributed systems and infrastructure, enabling the engineering team to confidently build new features.
• Build the expertise and confidence to troubleshoot live production systems with minimal disruption, including component replacements and failover management. Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure service reliability and rapid incident resolution.
• Collaborate with product engineers and other infrastructure teams to ensure our platforms align with evolving business requirements and product objectives.

Skills You'll Need to Bring

• Early-career software developer with at least 1 year of experience, capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting.
• Systems Thinker: Understand distributed systems and design solutions that balance consistency, latency, and scalability trade-offs.
• Pragmatic Problem-Solver: Prioritize business impact and understand the balance between development craft, speed, and long-term maintainability. Approach challenges with flexibility and a willingness to learn new technologies.
