Software Engineer in Accounting

Join SimCorp, a leader in FinTech, as a Software Engineer specializing in Accounting. This role is crucial for supporting major financial institutions by simplifying their investments, accounting, and operations. You will be part of the Accounting unit within SimCorp's Product Division, responsible for delivering legally binding subledger solutions across various asset classes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain features within the Accounting product suite.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, test automation, documentation, and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with teammates, Product Managers, and Architects to deliver high-quality, secure solutions.
• Adhere to engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Gain deep knowledge of the Accounting domain and understand how SimCorp's products contribute to client success.
• Actively participate in feedback, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Skills Required:

• A minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or functional programming language (C# is a plus).
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices like CI/CD and trunk-based development.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Enthusiasm for learning in-house tools and frameworks, including the APL programming language.
• Readiness to work within a complex accounting domain, handling financial and investment instruments.
• Good English communication skills (upper-intermediate or higher), both written and spoken.
• Experience with cloud technologies and the fintech domain is considered an advantage.
