Software Engineer III

About this Role

As a Software Engineer III in Security/Privacy with gTech Risk, you will develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users globally. This position is critical to Google's needs within the Global Business Organization (GBO), which powers our full ecosystem including Ads sellers and customer services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in software development with 2+ years of programming language expertise, OR 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2+ years building secure/privacy-focused software (e.g., identity and access management).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience in data structures, algorithms, accessible technologies, and large-scale system design.

Key Responsibilities

• Write high-quality product/system development code with a focus on security best practices.
• Lead or participate in design reviews to decide among available secure technologies.
• Review peer code for style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency while providing constructive feedback.
• Create and maintain educational documentation adapted based on user feedback and product updates.
• Triage system issues by analyzing root causes affecting hardware, network operations, or service quality.
