Software Engineer III

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer III with Java Full Stack expertise to join our dynamic team at Walmart Global Tech India in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be responsible for coding, unit testing, and building high-performance, scalable applications that cater to the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers, focusing on supply chain management and customer experience.

Our team collaborates closely with Walmart International, a global retail powerhouse operating over 5,900 retail units across 26 countries. You will architect, design, build, test, and deploy cutting-edge solutions at scale, driving value from data at Walmart's immense scale. This includes interacting with global Walmart engineering teams, leveraging expertise, and contributing to the tech community. You will engage with Product Management and Business stakeholders to define agendas, set priorities, and deliver innovative product features that keep our platform ahead of market trends.

Your responsibilities will also include identifying and integrating suitable open-source tools through research and proof-of-concepts, developing features for customer analytics at Walmart scale, and deploying and monitoring products on cloud platforms. Implementing best-in-class monitoring processes will be crucial to ensure our data applications meet stringent SLAs.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2.5 to 6 years of web-based application development experience, demonstrating up-to-date expertise in building enterprise-grade applications. Proficiency in GUI technologies such as React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is essential. You should possess end-to-end knowledge of full-stack web application development using Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, RESTful services, APIs, and other relevant frameworks. A passion for building user-friendly, intuitive web applications to solve complex business problems is highly valued. An extremely strong technical background, hands-on capability, and the ability to mentor top technical talent are key. Experience working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative manner, coupled with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, is also important. Prior retail experience is considered a significant plus.

Minimum Qualifications include either a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related area with 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company, OR 4 years of experience in software engineering or a related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Preferred Qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related area, or relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, GISF, GSEC, CISSP, or CCSP.
