Software Engineer III

About the Role

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking (BBAO team), you will design and deliver market-leading technology products in secure, scalable environments. You'll build full-stack solutions including Java/Spring Boot backend services, RESTful microservices, and modern UI applications using React or Angular to enable seamless customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain resilient APIs, integrations, and user interfaces with a focus on performance tuning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data teams using Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) to deliver iterative value.
• Write clean code with strong unit/integration test coverage; actively participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, engineering automation, and production troubleshooting including incident triage and root-cause analysis.

Leveraging AI Tools

You will utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to enhance productivity (e.g., code generation, test creation) while critically validating outputs for security and performance. This role requires understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations within banking environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years of applied software engineering.
• Proficiency in Java (Java 8+, Lambdas/Streams), Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Fully-stack development skills using React or Angular.
• Experience with AWS or Cloud Foundry, Docker/Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Databases: Oracle and/or NoSQL datastores like Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elastic Search.
• Kafka experience (producers/consumers) in Java environments.
• Strong adherence to TDD, automation practices, and secure development principles.
