Full Job Description
At JPMorgan Chase (specifically within the International Consumer Bank), we are launching Chase UK to revolutionize digital banking in Europe. We seek a curious, solution-oriented Software Engineer III - Back-End Engineer who can make an immediate impact on our geographically distributed team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create end-to-end cloud-native microservices using the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Apply domain modelling to build top-tier business products for services like fraud prevention, identity management, money transfers, card payments, lending, insurance, and rewards.
- Design scalable systems that avoid single points of failure and ensure zero-downtime releases.
- Develop secure code to protect customers from malicious actors and optimize data retrieval/write operations.
- Maintain system reliability, manage incidents, and continuously update our tech stack.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in recent versions of the Java programming language.
- Hands-on expertise with testing strategies (unit, integration, performance tests).
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and relational data stores.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with messaging frameworks and AWS cloud technologies.
- Experience working in highly regulated financial environments (FinTech/Banking).
- Deep knowledge of cloud-native microservices architecture patterns.
