Software Engineer II

JOB DESCRIPTION As a Software Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team, you will join an agile group dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering state-of-the-art software components for our firm's technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable environment. Job Responsibilities:

• Execute standard software solutions involving design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Write secure, high-quality code using Python with minimal guidance.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve quality and productivity while validating outputs through peer review and automated testing.
• Design and develop solutions considering upstream/downstream system implications.
• Apply technical troubleshooting skills to solve basic complexity problems.
• Analyze large, diverse datasets to identify issues and support secure application development decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 2+ years of applied experience (India/LATAM/Hong Kong region).
• Hands-on practical experience in Python, Observability tools like OTel and Dynatrace.
• Experience developing/debugging code in large corporate environments using modern programming languages and database querying.
• Familiarity with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, or documentation.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity considerations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Full stack Python developer experience in enterprise applications.
• Strong SDLC delivery experience using Agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency).
• Microservices development deployed on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and EC2 instances.
• Terraform scripting for AWS production deployments.
