Software Engineer II

FactSet is seeking a skilled Software Engineer II with expertise in Python to join our Deep Sector initiative in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India. This groundbreaking project focuses on delivering highly detailed, authoritative intelligence across nine industry verticals, including Banks, Insurance, and Healthcare, aiming to establish FactSet as a leader in each niche. The Deep Sector content provides trusted, granular information and specialized analysis for high-level, data-driven decisions.

What You'll Do

• Apply a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles.
• Develop back-end collection tools using Python.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices.
• Ensure proper maintenance of deployed products throughout their lifecycle.
• Participate in design and code reviews for multiple cross-team projects.
• Demonstrate a proactive learning attitude and openness to new technologies.
• Troubleshoot and debug front-end and back-end applications to resolve issues and optimize performance.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor or Engineering degree.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in back-end development.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Expertise with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL), data modeling, query optimization, and stored procedures.
