Software Engineer II

Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer II (Python Developer) specializing in AIML at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team, you will be an integral part of our agile development environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Execute standard software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting with minimal guidance.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools for code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation, while ensuring outputs are validated through peer review and secure coding standards.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot solutions considering upstream/downstream system implications.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development automation capabilities.
• Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making for secure application development.

Required Qualifications:

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 2+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in Python and AI/ML technologies.
• Proven experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments using modern programming languages and database querying languages (SQL).
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate outputs from enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and adherence to security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Full stack Python developer experience in enterprise application development.
• Strong expertise in SDLC delivery within Agile methodologies including CI/CD pipelines, Application Resiliency frameworks, and Security protocols.
• Experience developing microservices packaged into AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) or Elastic Container Service (ECS), deployed to EC2 instances.
• Skillset in writing Terraform scripts for infrastructure as code deployments within AWS production environments.
