Role Overview: Software Engineer II
This role provides critical support for applications software through programming, analysis, design, development, and delivery of robust software solutions. You will research alternative technical strategies to meet evolving business needs while adhering to Mastercard's global standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of systems application software: programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support aligned with MasterCard best practices.
- Develop high-quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical specifications within expected timeframes and budgets.
- Evaluate technical solution alternatives using current and upcoming technologies to address business needs.
- Conduct feasibility studies, logic designs, detailed systems flowcharting, input-output analysis, and cost/time assessments.
- Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines, identify emerging issues, recommend solutions, perform production incident management, and participate in on-call pager rotations.
- Document software programs adhering to Software Development Best Practices (SDLC) and Quality Assurance/Control processes.
- Assist senior team members in updating documentation templates for project-specific needs.
- Contribute ideas to enhance standards, improve process efficiency, and support metrics reporting.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience required. Must possess thorough knowledge of Software Engineering concepts/methodologies and demonstrate MC Core Competencies.
Tech Stack Context: 1-3 years experience.- High energy, detail-oriented, proactive with the ability to function under pressure independently.
- Demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn challenging opportunities.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills; collaborative organizational abilities.
- Able to thrive in matrix-based, diverse, geographically distributed teams.
