About the Role:
As a Software Engineer II in the Traffic team at HERE Technologies in Mumbai, Maharashtra, you will play a crucial role in automating and enhancing our traffic data processing capabilities. You will implement advanced software tools for backend data processing and develop user-friendly dashboards. This position requires you to be a technical leader, driving the development of innovative solutions and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in traffic data processing. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, continuously learning and adapting to new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate and streamline traffic data processing through backend and dashboard implementations.
- Lead the development of technically excellent and innovative solutions for traffic data processing.
- Master CI/CD tools for seamless code deployment from development to production.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the software stack, including DevOps and testing for full quality assurance.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customers to identify needs, solve complex problems, and unlock new opportunities using backend expertise.
- Leverage internal platform resources and APIs for efficient data processing.
- Develop efficient, reliable, reusable, and scalable software for the company's growing needs.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of software development experience, preferably with Java or Scala.
- Strong understanding of data structures, messaging technologies, and frameworks.
- Proficiency in cloud environments, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, SOA, and microservices architectures.
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS) and Docker.
- Expertise in CI/CD practices, with GitLab as a preferred tool.
- Fluency in writing Linux/Unix shell scripts.
- Ability to translate business needs into elegant and consistent software designs.
- Commitment to writing clean, reusable, and reliable code.
- Experience with unit testing, performance testing, and building testable code.
