Job Description

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Consumer and Community Banking - Data Technology team in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable software components for the firm's advanced technology products. As an emerging member of the software engineering team, you will contribute to the execution of software solutions by engaging in the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while actively developing the skills and experience necessary for career growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language with minimal supervision.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot solutions, taking into account upstream and downstream systems and their technical implications.
• Leverage tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to enhance value through automation.
• Apply technical troubleshooting skills to deconstruct and resolve technical problems of basic complexity.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret large, diverse datasets to identify issues and contribute to decision-making processes that support secure and stable application development.
• Acquire and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills essential for developing secure, stable code and systems.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts coupled with 2+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code within a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Demonstrated ability to code proficiently in at least one programming language.
• Comprehensive experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Exposure to agile methodologies, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Application Resiliency, and Security best practices.
• Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a specific technical discipline (e.g., cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile development).
• Proficiency in Data Engineering concepts, Python, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts.
• A flexible attitude towards learning new technologies and contributing to team success.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Familiarity with contemporary front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
