Software Engineer II

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join their Commercial & Investment Bank team in Mumbai. You will be a key member of an agile team, responsible for designing and delivering critical technology solutions across various business functions to achieve firm objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for applications and infrastructure, including build, test, security scanning, release, and rollback processes.
• Build and manage secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Develop comprehensive automation for provisioning, configuration management, patching, backups, and operational runbooks to enhance efficiency.
• Implement and manage container platforms and deployment workflows using Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and Helm.
• Establish and maintain observability through metrics, logs, and traces, implementing effective alerting and SLOs to drive incident response and postmortems.
• Champion a security-by-default approach by implementing least privilege principles with IAM, managing secrets and keys, remediating vulnerabilities, and utilizing policy-as-code.
• Enhance reliability and optimize cost posture through autoscaling, right-sizing resources, performance tuning, and supporting FinOps initiatives like tagging and chargeback.
• Standardize environment management across development, testing, and production, and automate governance controls.
• Support release management, change control processes, and participate in on-call rotations, continuously seeking opportunities to reduce manual effort through improvement.
• Produce clear and concise technical documentation for pipelines, environments, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Automation.
• Proven experience with AWS services including IAM, VPC, EC2, ALB/NLB, S3, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, Lambda, and Route 53.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, or CloudFormation/CDK, with the ability to structure reusable modules and stacks.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, including Python, Bash, or Go.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, fundamental networking concepts (DNS, TLS, routing), and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
• Experience with secrets and configuration management tools like AWS Secrets Manager/SSM or Vault.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to various cloud technologies.
