L2 Full-Stack Engineer
About Us
Perch Energy is a mission-driven organization focused on expanding access to clean and affordable energy through community solar. We work across several US states, bringing community solar solutions to individuals and communities that benefit most from an inclusive renewable energy system.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an L2 Full-Stack Engineer to join our Engineering team in Chennai, India (fully remote). You will help build reliable, user-friendly software across backend and frontend systems. As a hands-on, collaborative engineer, you will enjoy shipping features, improving product quality, and learning through close partnership with teammates.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature Delivery: Build and ship small to medium-sized product features across the full stack (backend/frontend) with limited guidance and a bias toward action.
- Application Quality: Write clean, modular, maintainable code following best practices. Implement robust tests including edge cases to improve reliability and usability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers on UI/UX and API design, balancing speed, quality, and user experience.
Technical Stack & Skills
- Backend: Ruby on Rails
- Frontend: React.js, Modern JavaScript
- Databases: Relational databases (SQL)
- APIs: RESTful architecture
Requirements
2+ years of experience building web applications. Strong fundamentals in programming and the ability to ship clean code.
Solid understanding of state management, database design, and API development. Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, cloud platforms, and observability tools. Practical familiarity with AI-powered coding tools for implementation and debugging. Clear communication skills suitable for distributed, cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points- Experience in SaaS or fast-paced product environments.
Exposure to background jobs, asynchronous processing, and event-driven integrations. Interest in clean energy, climate tech, or mission-driven products.
