Software Engineer II

Mimecast is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Email Incident Response Team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This role involves designing and developing performant, secure, and scalable backend services on-premise and AWS infrastructure. The engineer will contribute to AI-first development, writing resilient code, maintaining documentation, participating in incident response, and optimizing resource usage. Responsibilities include backend service implementation, RESTful API development, data processing pipelines, relational database management (PostgreSQL preferred), and working with caching technologies like Redis. Foundational knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and containerization with Docker is required. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), Linux environments, and Git is essential. Strong collaboration skills and active use of AI-assisted development tools are a core requirement. Familiarity with Elasticsearch, AWS services (ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, ALB), and frontend frameworks (Angular, React) are considered a plus. Experience in detection engineering, threat intelligence, or SOC/incident response workflows is also beneficial.
