As a Software Engineer II within the Commercial & Investment Bank at JPMorgan Chase, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable software components for the firm's cutting-edge technology products. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you will contribute to software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, all while gaining valuable experience for career progression.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute standard software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language with minimal supervision.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot, considering upstream and downstream system implications and technical impacts.
- Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools to enhance value through automation.
- Utilize technical troubleshooting skills to deconstruct and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse datasets to identify issues and support decision-making for secure and stable application development.
- Learn and implement system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems.
- Contribute to a team culture that fosters diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts combined with 2+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code within a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Demonstrated ability to code proficiently in at least one programming language.
- Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Exposure to agile methodologies, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Application Resiliency, and Security best practices.
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a specific technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile).
- Frontend experience with Javascript/TypeScript, React/Next.js.
- Mobile App Development experience with iOS/Swift.
