Software Engineer II

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated AI Research Engineer with a strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI to join our growing team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advancing open-source Large Language Models (LLMs), embedding techniques, and vector databases. You will have hands-on experience building classification models. Experience in the customer support industry and knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps practices will be a strong asset for this position.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Solid understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms, transformer architectures, and language model training/fine-tuning methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with open-source LLMs, including but not limited to LLaMA, Mistral, and Falcon.
• Expertise in embedding techniques (e.g., OpenAI, HuggingFace, SentenceTransformers) and their practical applications in semantic search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience working with various vector databases like Weaviate, Pinecone, FAISS, or Milvus.
• Proven hands-on experience in building NLP classification models.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, DVC, or Kubeflow, and LLMOps platforms for managing LLM pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience within the customer support or conversational AI industry.
• Knowledge of deploying AI applications in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Contributions to open-source projects within the NLP/LLM domain.
• Experience with prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs for specific downstream tasks.
