Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II on the Employee Platforms team at JPMorgan Chase in Ahmedabad, you will play a key role in addressing complex business challenges with elegant and effective software solutions. You will leverage code and cloud infrastructure to configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated environments. Your responsibilities will include independently decomposing existing solutions and iteratively improving them, while also contributing significantly to team knowledge by sharing expertise in end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability.

Key Job Responsibilities include: gaining deep expertise in Oracle HCM modules (Payroll, TLA, Compensation, Benefits), staying updated on Oracle releases, developing integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud or other middleware, creating custom reports and fast formulas, establishing robust incident management processes, performing root cause analysis, guiding peers in design and consensus building, supporting non-HCM HR applications integrated with Oracle HCM, adopting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles like error budgets and blameless postmortems, writing clear runbooks, and designing systems for high availability and scalability using load testing and monitoring tools.

Required skills and experience include formal SRE training or certification with over 2 years of applied experience, hands-on Oracle HCM experience, proficiency in SRE culture and principles, a strong understanding of SQL and database technology, and familiarity with Oracle HCM tools such as Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle OTB, Oracle HCM Fast Formula, Oracle HCM Extract, Oracle HDL, PBL, and Spreadsheet Loader. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, be detail-oriented and a team player, and be prepared to work in multiple shifts and on weekends rotationally.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with modern front-end technologies, exposure to cloud platforms like AWS and tools like Terraform, knowledge of Python, web practices, and monitoring tools, and a willingness to contribute innovative product ideas.
