Software Engineer I

Join Cepheid, a leading innovator in molecular diagnostics, as a Software Engineer I (Java Full Stack) in our Bangalore, India R&D department. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing, and implementing next-generation software products. This onsite role reports to the Engineering Manager, R&D and offers the opportunity to make a real impact in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain molecular diagnostics application software using Java, Angular, and associated frameworks.
• Develop automated unit, component, and system-level test suites with industry-standard tools.
• Execute end-to-end software quality activities, including test coverage expansion and defect management.
• Integrate software components with firmware, hardware, and diagnostic instrumentation systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Support continuous build, integration, and release processes within regulated development environments.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 1+ years of full-stack development experience, with a minimum of 1 year hands-on development using Java and Angular for front-end and back-end applications.
• Experience developing software for AWS cloud environments.
• Experience in low-level software design engineering and Object-Oriented Design.
• Proficiency in implementing Object-Oriented Design principles and design patterns in Java and Angular.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certified developer.
• Experience leveraging AI to improve operational performance.
• Experience working with distributed global teams.
