As a Software Engineer I within the R&D Department, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of Cepheid's next-generation software products, from design and development to testing and implementation. This is an onsite role reporting to the Engineering Manager, R&D.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain molecular diagnostics application software using Java, Angular, and related development frameworks.
• Develop comprehensive automated unit, component, and system-level test suites utilizing industry-standard automation tools.
• Execute full-cycle software quality assurance activities, including expanding test coverage, identifying defects, and managing verification workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate software components with firmware, hardware, and diagnostic instrumentation systems.
• Support continuous build, integration, and release processes for molecular diagnostics software within regulated development environments.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of hands-on full-stack development experience, specifically with Java for backend and Angular for frontend applications.
• Proven experience developing software solutions for AWS cloud environments.
• Familiarity with low-level software design engineering and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
• Proficiency in applying OOD principles and design patterns within Java and Angular applications.

Desirable Qualifications:

• AWS Certified Developer certification.
• Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance operational performance.
• Previous experience working effectively with distributed, global teams.
