Software Engineer

Robert Half is hiring a Software Engineer in Greenville, SC (Greenville area) to build and enhance business applications, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled solutions. The role translates operational needs into secure, scalable software and supports development and delivery across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Build, test, release, and support enterprise software, automation workflows, and AI-driven tools that address business needs
- Work with stakeholders to uncover improvement opportunities and convert functional goals into practical technical solutions
- Create custom applications, system interfaces, APIs, reports, and workflow automations using modern development platforms and integration tools
- Connect internal systems, databases, cloud environments, and external platforms for reliable data exchange
- Research emerging AI, generative AI, and automation technologies to identify valuable business use cases
- Transform prototypes into production-ready applications with appropriate security and support practices
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle (discovery through retirement planning)
- Produce technical documentation and system design artifacts to promote sustainability
- Partner with IT teams and business users to resolve issues and deliver project outcomes
- Apply established cybersecurity, privacy, governance, source control, and change management standards

Must Have Requirements:

• Experience developing software with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, React.js, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of AI concepts: generative AI, machine learning, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted solutions.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot).
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, integrations, and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Understanding of cloud/analytics technologies including Azure services and reporting tools.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and SD methodologies.
