Software Engineer

Role Overview

This position entails advanced software development within the Power Systems Applications domain, focused on delivering specific functionalities to meet corporate project and product objectives. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Electric Utilities or Independent System Operators (ISOs), as well as Transmission and Distribution System Operators.

• Develop functional software specifications
• Design, code, test, integrate, tune applications, and deliver solutions

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Software Center of Excellence:

• Exemplify high-quality development, testing, and delivery practices.
• Enhance, evolve, and support the Electricity Energy Market Management System (MMS) for high availability.
• Develop advanced Power Systems Application software to fulfill project commitments using dynamic agile environments and latest technologies.

You will provide domain knowledge/technical support to power markets application engineers. Roles include understanding customer needs throughout the lifecycle, interacting with Product Development Teams and cross-functional groups, applying SDLC principles (Lean/Agile/XP), ensuring security/scalability/testing, and providing maintenance including code fixes, documentation, and UI development.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems or related field with relevant thesis/work experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Power Systems Analysis, Security Constrained Unit Commitment/Economic Dispatch (using MIP/Optimization), or Applied Mathematics/Operations Research.
