Software Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for Software Engineers with open-source development experience to contribute to a project focused on software engineering and AI evaluation.

What You'll Do:

• Create realistic software engineering tasks involving debugging, feature implementation, refactoring, and optimization.
• Work with diverse and unfamiliar codebases.
• Develop reproducible environments and reference solutions for assigned tasks.
• Analyze and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement robust and maintainable features.
• Review and validate code submissions for technical accuracy.
• Document technical reasoning and solution approaches.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience with one or more of Python, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Experience with debugging, code review, feature implementation, and performance optimization.
• Ability to work with large or unfamiliar codebases.
• Strong analytical and logical-thinking skills.
• Clear technical communication and documentation skills.
• Open-source contributions and a verifiable GitHub profile are preferred. Candidates without sufficient GitHub evidence may be asked to complete a technical assessment.
