Full Job Description

Addepar is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the AI Platform team, driving innovation in AI-powered investment solutions. As a Fullstack Engineer, you will build and ship features spanning backend services (Python FastAPI/Flask, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Redis) and real-time frontend interfaces (Svelte-based chat UI, WebSocket streaming). Your work will directly impact Addison, Addepar’s AI assistant, enabling conversational portfolio analysis, specialized agents, dynamic chart generation, and real-time interactions. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and maintaining reliable backend services with a focus on maintainability and scalability.
  • Building REST APIs with robust request validation, error handling, and clear API contracts.
  • Working with relational/NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB) and asynchronous processing flows.
  • Creating real-time UI features for conversational interfaces, including WebSocket pipelines and state management.
  • End-to-end feature delivery, from backend logic to frontend implementation.
  • Writing comprehensive automated tests (unit/integration) and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Debugging production issues across services and UIs using logs, metrics, and DevTools.
  • Collaborating with senior engineers to refine engineering standards and code quality.
  • Expanding skills in both backend and frontend through hands-on feature delivery.
Ideal candidates have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 3 years of fullstack development in a production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (or other modern backend languages) and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Production-level experience in REST APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD workflows, and testing disciplines.
  • A growth mindset to master complementary stack areas through real-world projects.
  • Passion for AI-driven solutions and a collaborative culture.
