About Discern

Discern is a venture-backed company developing compliance technology that monitors entity status, standing, and filing requirements across all US jurisdictions. Our team is highly collaborative with extensive experience from both corporate and tech startup environments. We operate as a distributed engineering team across the United States on Eastern Standard Time (EST).

The Team

In this role, you will report directly to the CTO and collaborate closely with the engineering leads, Head of Product, and Lead Product Designer.

What You'll Do

• Leverage cutting-edge technologies including React, Go, Temporal, sqlc, GKE, and Kibu to tackle complex business challenges.
• Work on both front-end and back-end platform technologies to deliver functional features for the Discern product.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, designers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality software development.
• Contribute insights into technology patterns and practices used at Discern.

About You

We are looking for a passionate full-stack engineer with over 5 years of professional experience. Specifically:

• Over 3 years building software with React and TypeScript.
• Over 3 years programming in Go.
• Extensive experience designing relational database structures and working with SQL.

You should have significant experience developing enterprise or SaaS business software. You excel at debugging, regression testing, and automating tasks to improve team velocity. Effective communication within distributed teams is essential.
