Software Engineer

Our FSxN Workload Factory for Databases team revolutionizes database instance and cluster deployment and management with NetApp's best practices. The Workload Factory UI allows users to effortlessly create and manage their entire database environment, including VPC setup, subnets, Active Directory integration, FSx for ONTAP configuration, and EC2 instances with SQL deployment. It supports both new environment creation and utilization of existing customer environments, deployed exclusively on AWS. This solution automates thin cloning, facilitates storage-level disaster recovery, and provides robust monitoring and resolution for database health issues, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and data protection.

Job Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and automate cloud-native applications and services using TypeScript, Node.js, ReactJS/JavaScript/HTML.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Data Structures and algorithms.
• Possess expertise in cloud technologies, containers, and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.
• Have a solid understanding of storage and networking concepts.
• Be versatile with Windows/UNIX OS and related technologies.
• Show good understanding of REST API design and implementation.
• Have knowledge of at least one database (MSSQL, Oracle & PostgreSQL).
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve complex problems and improve system performance.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions to enhance development processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design scalable, secure cloud solutions.
• Work closely with the SRE team to ensure smooth feature deployment in production.
• Utilize AI tools like Copilot and Cursor to boost productivity in automation, development, documentation, and unit test writing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, performance, and security.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Participate in all phases of the product development cycle from requirement understanding to test design.
• Show experience in solving complex problems and developing high-scale, performant systems.
• Possess a strong aptitude for learning new technologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other programming languages such as Node.js (TypeScript), Golang, or Java, along with PowerShell.
• Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL) and data storage solutions.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Kibana, ELK stack).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps principles.
• Cloud technology certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) are a plus.

Education

• Master's/bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
• Typically requires a minimum of 4-8 years of related experience.
