Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Conversion Engineering team at Upstart. This role is critical for optimizing borrower application journeys and significantly improving conversion rates by developing high-performance, user-facing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver essential features that enhance the loan application and rate check experiences, directly driving improvements in funding form submission metrics.
• Maintain robust full-stack web applications with a keen focus on monitoring system health, latency, and error rates at scale.
• Collaborate to define and build our next-generation platform funding forms designed for multiple products, ensuring architectural direction supports long-term scalability.

Necessary Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics (or equivalent) with 3+ years of professional experience.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end features spanning frontend and backend systems, including API integrations and microservices architecture.
• Strong expertise in building customer-facing web applications that prioritize performance, usability, and data-driven experimentation.
