Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Lead (Technical Lead) to join our Global Customs IT PDO team in Chennai, India. You will partner with internal Manufacturing, Finance, and Invoicing systems, as well as external providers, to deliver end-to-end customs solutions globally.

Your mission is to lead the Developer Enablement initiative, shaping the future of our Customs IT practices by fostering Lean, Agile, and Human Centered Design cultures. You will drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and AI-powered tools (LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG) to accelerate developer flow and reduce tech debt.

Key Responsibilities

• Fuel Developer Productivity: Empower teams through innovative experimentation and product building that accelerates development workflows.
• Cloud-Native Empowerment: Enable seamless application deployment on our chosen cloud platforms (GCP, OpenShift, GKE).
• Inner Source Evangelist: Cultivate a cross-boundary culture of knowledge sharing and innovation across NA, EU, and IMG teams.
• Promote New Products with AI: Design and deploy solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for code acceleration.
• DevSecOps Champion: Embed security into every stage of the development lifecycle using modern DevSecOps principles.

What You'll Bring

We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 6+ years of experience with Java, Angular, and Spring Boot. Strong expertise in object-oriented design is mandatory.

You must have hands-on experience with modern development tools (VS Code, IntelliJ), Git-based workflows, Terraform, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and SAST/FOSSA solutions like Checkmarx or Cycode.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) implementations is a plus.
• Familiarity with mainframe systems (COBOL), customs regulations, and FTA requirements are nice-to-have attributes for this role in the automotive sector.
