Software Engineer

Kaleris is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. You will play a key role in enhancing and expanding our rail operations system, contributing to its evolution to meet the evolving needs of our global customers. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will work within an Agile team, collaborating with a Product Manager, Lead Developer, and QA Lead. You will be responsible for creating new product features using test-driven development, working across the full stack from frontend to backend, and taking end-to-end ownership of your contributions. We encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing of new technologies throughout the full development life-cycle, from definition and design to product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new product features for global customers using test-driven development.
• Work across the entire technology stack (frontend to backend).
• Take ownership of assigned functionalities from conception to delivery.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and share expertise with the team.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSC IT.
• 2 to 4 years of industry experience in software development.
• Expertise in application development using Java.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented methodologies, enterprise application architectures, and design patterns.
• Proficiency with unit testing frameworks and Git version control.
• Experience with software development processes, including software design and testing (unit/integration).
• Proven ability to translate user and business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
