Join Volvo Cars as a Software Engineer in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and contribute to shaping the future of mobility. This role is within the Digital Finance team, where you will drive innovation in Product Costing by developing backend services. You will be part of a product team, strengthening our backend capabilities by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable microservices. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to create impactful solutions.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using Java, SQL, and scripts. Handle integrations of backend services, ensuring seamless communication across platforms and cloud technologies. Work with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions and drive innovation within the team, contributing to continuous process and service improvement.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for engineers with 8+ years of professional backend development experience, including at least 8 years with Java and very strong experience in Spring Boot. Proficiency in Github, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and integration techniques like IBM MQ is essential. Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture with Kafka is also required. You should have hands-on responsibility for design, reliability, and production systems. Strong experience in developing and integrating complex backend services, along with cloud technologies and various communication protocols, is expected. Experience with data analysis and handling high data volumes in system integrations is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, and strong communication and collaboration skills are vital. A university degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
