About the Role
We are actively seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to become an integral part of our India Payments team. The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in Java, Unix, and Oracle Database. Familiarity with vendor management and strong communication abilities are highly desirable.
As a Software Engineer I within the Payments Technology Team at JPMorgan Chase, you will contribute to an agile environment focused on enhancing, designing, and delivering cutting-edge software components for the firm's technology products. Your work will emphasize security, stability, and scalability. In this entry-level role, you will execute foundational software solutions by contributing to the design, development, and troubleshooting of specific technical areas within a business function, while simultaneously developing new skills and gaining valuable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide critical technical support for India's payment business operations, ensuring the seamless and reliable delivery of services.
- Maintain and support local India applications, including the proactive identification and resolution of technical issues.
- Effectively manage and track incidents and problems associated with Global, Regional, and Local Vendor Applications.
- Liaise with vendors to facilitate issue resolution, drive service improvements, and ensure ongoing support.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to guarantee the timely delivery of innovative solutions and enhancements.
- Document technical procedures, incident reports, and other support-related activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Possess 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience with Java and working within Unix environments.
- Demonstrated experience with Oracle Database and SQL.
- Proven experience in vendor management.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work autonomously.
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
