About the Role

As a Software Engineer 3 focusing on AI Platforms at Wayfair in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, you will be instrumental in driving the end-to-end delivery of our AI platforms, from initial design and architecture to production deployment.

Leverage your profound expertise in AI engineering to build Wayfair's next generation of AI capabilities. You will design and implement scalable systems using technologies such as Python, Go, Kubernetes, GCP, and Airflow to effectively support diverse AI workloads.

Your role involves thinking beyond current technological constraints to push the boundaries of what's achievable with AI, delivering practical and innovative solutions through collaboration. Champion open-source solutions and Google Cloud native technologies, applying them strategically to our AI use cases.

Develop comprehensive AI solutions that can power the full spectrum of AI initiatives across Wayfair. You will partner closely with product leaders to identify and address technical pain points for data scientists and other teams developing AI applications, translating these challenges into robust platform solutions.

Advise on the AI platform's technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives. Promote a culture of engineering excellence and enhance the technical prowess of our AI engineering and product teams.

Stay abreast of emerging AI engineering technology trends, evaluating and developing proof-of-concepts, and making informed technology recommendations.

About You

You possess 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of designing and scaling systems effectively.

You have over 2 years of experience in Linux-based development, Python/Go development, and leading engineering teams.

Experience developing AI/ML pipelines, model deployment systems, and orchestrating AI workloads with Kubernetes is essential.

You have a strong understanding of containerization, the challenges of AI system scalability, and software engineering best practices.

Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, along with model serving technologies, is required.

Knowledge of AI system monitoring, performance optimization, and model lifecycle management is expected.

Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence technical decisions aligned with company AI strategy are crucial.

Hands-on experience in high-growth environments at scale, with the capacity to mentor engineers and collaborate effectively with AI researchers and data scientists, is highly valued.

Nice to Have
